My documents weren't accepted for the Veriff self-verification process. What do I do?

How to fix problems related to confirming your identity during blue-check verification signup, and which documents may need further investigation.

If you tried to sign up for blue-check verification on UpScrolled but ran into problems confirming your identity with government documents on the third-party service Veriff, you will be able to resubmit paperwork until your case is confirmed or denied.

If your verification failed, an agent (not AI) from our team will automatically reach out to provide options and suggest adjustments that may help confirm your identity.

If you're auto-rejected by Veriff, you have three options:

  • Reapply. You can start over with additional or updated documents that work better, and our team can provide suggestions on what may need to be updated.

  • Cancel your subscription. If you paid for a subscription and then weren't able to establish your identity, you can cancel and your subscription will simply not renew during the next billing cycle (the timing may depend on whether you opted for a monthly or annual payment cycle).

    • If you choose this option and leave your identity unconfirmed on Veriff, you will not receive a blue-check on UpScrolled nor receive the on-platform benefits listed as part of the subscription.

  • Request a refund. If you can't prove your identity via Veriff, you can request a refund.

    • UpScrolled is able to issue refunds directly to Android users.

    • iOS/Apple users will need to contact Apple directly to request a refund.

Good to know:

  • Users' identities are automatically screened by Veriff and confirmed if the validity of the documentation can be established. Even in cases where users' IDs are accepted, the UpScrolled team manually checks these results before providing on-platform blue-check verification status.

Common documentation problems:

Palestinian identification documents:

  • UpScrolled users confirming their identity with a Green ID (from Gaza, the West Bank, or refugee IDs) may run into issues confirming their identity via the automated system. In this case, a member of our team will reach out directly to your email address provide next steps and help get you verified.

  • Users with Israeli Blue IDs (East Jerusalem or '48) should be able to sign up through the automated system. If there is a problem for any reason, someone from our team will reach out directly with options to fix the problem.

  • Part of the verification includes checking details like connection location. If you are physically in Palestine but using a VPN to connect, please provide a screenshot to our team of the VPN's connection location so that we can confirm.
